Megamentin 1000 Intas
Manufacturer: Intas Substance: Augmentin Pack: 1000mg (4 capsules)
Megamentin 1000 has antibacterial properties. It is used for infections of the respiratory and urinary tracts, soft tissues and skin, as well as for systemic infections.
Interaction with other drugs
Simultaneous application of probenecid is not recommended, since probenecid reduces tubular secretion of amoxicillin. Simultaneous use of it with Megamentin 1000 may lead to an increase in the level of amoxicillin in the blood plasma for a long time; The level of clavulanic acid has no effect.
Simultaneous use of allopurinol during treatment with amoxicillin increases the likelihood of skin-allergic reactions. There are no data on the combined use of Megamentin 1000 and allopurinol.
Like other antibiotics, Augmentin can affect the intestinal flora, which leads to a decrease in the reabsorption of estrogens and a decrease in the effectiveness of combined oral contraceptives. The presence of clavulanic acid in Augmentin can cause non-specific binding of IgG and albumin to erythrocyte membranes, so that the Coombs reaction can be false positive.
It can be accompanied by symptoms from the digestive tract and disturbances of the water-electrolyte balance. Treatment is symptomatic, correction of water-electrolyte disorders is carried out. There may occur crystalluria, which in some cases leads to kidney failure. There are reports of precipitation of amoxicillin in the urinary catheter with the use of intravenous Augmentin in high doses, so it should be checked regularly for its patency. Augmentin can be removed from the bloodstream during hemodialysis.
