Manufacturer: Alto Substance: Doxycycline Pack: 100mg (30 capsules)
Doxycycline is a semisynthetic antibiotic of a group of tetracyclines of a wide spectrum of action. It has a bacteriostatic effect by suppressing the synthesis of protein pathogens.
After oral use, doxycycline is almost completely absorbed from the digestive tract. Food does not affect the absorption of the drug. The maximum concentration of doxycycline in the blood plasma is determined 2 hours after ingestion. Binding to plasma proteins – 80-95%. The half-life is between 15 and 25 hours. Most of the doxycycline is excreted with feces.
Special instructions and precautions:
The use of doxycycline during the formation of teeth can cause irreversible changes in their color.
Treatment of infections caused by strepto- and staphylococci, escherichia, shigella, akinetobacter, is possible only after determining the sensitivity of microorganisms to doxycycline. To prevent ulceration of the esophagus should be taken with a lot of fluid. During treatment and for 4-5 days afterwards, direct exposure to sunlight or UV rays (photosensitivity) is contraindicated.
With prolonged use, the cellular composition of the peripheral blood should be monitored regularly, functional liver tests performed, and nitrogen and urea in the serum determined. Perhaps a false increase in the level of catecholamines in urine when determined by the fluorescent method. In the study of the thyroid biopsy in patients who have been receiving doxycycline for a long time, the possibility of dark brown staining of the tissue in micro-preparations should be taken into account.
